Advocacy

Some barriers are not legal ones: language, confidence, unfamiliarity with how institutions work, or simply not being listened to. Our advocacy work is about standing alongside people, putting their position clearly, and helping to remove those barriers.

What we can help with

Typical support

  • Attending meetings with councils, landlords and statutory services
  • Putting a person's case clearly in writing on their behalf
  • Following up when correspondence goes unanswered
  • Making complaints and escalating where a service has fallen short
  • Community-level advocacy for groups facing the same issue

How the process usually runs

  1. 01

    Initial enquiry

Tell us what outcome you are trying to reach and who is involved.

  2. 02

    Planning together

We prepare the case, agree who says what, and set out the key points.

  3. 03

    Standing alongside you

We support you through meetings and correspondence until matters move on.

We provide general information and practical support rather than advice on your individual circumstances. Where a matter needs regulated or specialist representation, we will tell you and help you find it.

Not sure where to start?

Tell us briefly what you are dealing with. We will explain the general position and, if you need a specialist, help you find one.
